2022-2023 Season Preview
Projected Record: 55 – 27
The biggest story heading into the season is whether Nikola Jokic will win a third consecutive MVP award. Jokic has established himself as one of the best players in the league. Coming off a season in which he averaged 27 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 assists per game. There’s no reason to think that Jokic won’t be in the running for MVP once again, but it will be interesting to see if he can continue his torrid pace from last season.
After missing half the season due to injury, Jamal Murray is finally set to make his return to the Denver Nuggets lineup. With Murray back in the fold, the Nuggets will once again have a dangerous scoring threat on the perimeter. In addition, Murray’s return will also help to ease some of the pressure on Jokic, who has shouldered a large load since Murray went down. Another player to watch this season is forward Michael Porter Jr., who shows flashes of brilliance when on the court. Porter Jr. is a gifted scorer and rebounder, and if he can develop more consistency on both ends of the floor, he could emerge as one of the best players in the league. The Nuggets will need him to take a leap this season if they want to make another deep playoff run.
The Denver Nuggets are a team to watch this upcoming NBA season. With Nikola Jokic leading the way, Jamal Murray returning and Michael Porter Jr. looking to take his game to new heights, the Nuggets have all the pieces in place for another successful campaign. Be sure to keep an eye on these guys as they look to make some noise in the playoffs once again.
